ashockingbitchLady Jennifer Sparks awoke with the dawn, as was her wont, and gazed out the window as she reminisced on the sad and strange sequence of events that had brought her here. First her parents had died in that terrible boating accident while she was away at the girls' school in Vienna, leaving her father's business rival to steal the family fortune and forcing her to marry to avoid winding up on the streets, then her new husband had kidnapped her godfather, intent on using his intellect and Lady Jennifer's beauty to cement his claim to the throne he planned to usurp. Now she was forced to hide in this strange, quaint town, and it really just wasn't fair.
After several minutes of gazing out the window and heaving great sighs every few minutes, Lady Jennifer decided there was nothing to do but get ready for church. God would help her. Somehow. She just had to have faith, and hope her evil ex-husband didn't show up on the island. But really, what were the odds of that?
